Really important Off topic

Ok...here's the deal. For our Net54 National Dinner I played the hotels against each other to "win" our Net54 National Dinner business. The Embassy Suites said they would give us a 1/2 hour open bar for free.....so of course they won our business (plus I am staying there and wanted them to have it anyway...but that is beside the point)......The Dinner will be from 6pm till 12am.....just like last year. I expect it to start at 6pm promptly and then at 7pm we are going to have some speakers....That will take us to approx. 8pm.....and I am thinking that is when I want the Dinner served.....(8pm)....There will be 2 buffet lines so it should be pretty quick....But here is the question....When would be the best time (when we drink the most) to have them give us the free 1/2 hour of open bar? Of course this whole evening is free to everyone attending but there will be no drink tickets needed for whichever half hour I/we choose. Do ya'll think 6:30-7:00 or maybe later such as 9:00-9:30pm? We want to maximize our consumption during the freebies... ......best regards |

Jeepers, no one told me there was open bar...it might be worth the 6 hour drive. |

you are welcome to do as you like....but as I said, it's open free bar from 6pm - 12am......not really much need to double fist the drinks.....however, if you want to bring a beer bong we can have some real fun!!! I remember when I was in the Marine Corps......oh, never mind...I will save that story for the Dinner party...... |

That way we don't interfere with speakers or dinners AND we can drink beforehand -- however, shoot, whatever time is good for you is good for us --we all appreciate the effort involved |

6:30 - 7:00 would be good, then we'll be in good spirits to heckle the speakers. |

Do the 6:30 time slot. The earlier the better. That way the jealously factor of hearing that so & so just bought a set of cards for hundreds of thousands of dollars won't hurt as much. |

Staff? We don't need no stinkin' staff!!! You got me. Actually I received a preliminary banquet order today from the hotel ...There will be 3 chefs and 2 bartenders....We are up to 110 confirmed rsvp's and about half a dozen maybes....so it looks like it will be similar in size to our Dinner last year.....I also just picked up the name tags and markers....Remember, everyone will need to have a little name tag on. No lurkers permitted (at least anonymously).....and then too, if you are lurking at this dinner, you might be kind of weird...(or should I say more weird than normal for guys that collect pictures of dead ballplayers)....best regards |

So far I have never heard anyone say they couldn't get enough to drink at one of our Dinners ....The last 2 yrs we only had 1 bartender.....I would guess only 3/4 of the group, or less, will drink too.....plus, when time is up everyone will have as many tickets to use as is needed.....take care |
