GAI joins SGC as being brutal on caramel card grading
Posted By: TBob
Having sent several packages in to GAI for grading in the past 2 months, I can state that GAI, while still my grading company of choice, has really been tough on grading caramel cards. I like the fact they seem to be consistent but wow, they are just as brutal as SGC now. Cards grading VG with no creases and no appreciable rounding compare very favorably with PSA 5s I've seen recently on ebay. |

SGC is just STUPID tough for no reason at all, I'll never get them...I may not submit to them but I'll keep buying their cards. |

I remember not so too long ago Bob was shucking those entombed cards like corn before a 4th of July picnic. |

I still don't like the whole grading business/idea but they provide a safe (?) way to store otherwise fragile pieces of cardboard. I have entombed all my E94s and have started entombing many of my older scarce cards like 1909 Obaks, 1910 Obaks Series of 150 and the E98 set. The rest I'll leave alone. Bottom line is I am still buying cards, not holders, and don't pay as much attention to the grades assigned on the labels as many. |

I find it best to just trim the cards to your desired grade (or buying trimmed cards already so you don't have to do any work), then submit them to PSA and maximize your profit potential |
