Aside from being the moderator of a Vintage Baseball Card forum, can anyone think of a more thankless job then that of a Major League Baseball umpire? C'mon folks let's see those vintage umpire cards! I'll start it off with one of my favorites:

1940 Playball Dolly Stark

Nah,

1) He played that game where they make you put your forehead on the knob of a baseball bat and spin around a bunch of times until you are dizzy and then have to run (walk, stumble, crawl) to an object.

2) He was umpiring the 1989 World Series

3) He was kissed by Morganna

"Dear Chris (to my 10-year-old son):

You write a nice letter.
Be good to your parents, and say your prayers daily,
and the Lord will bless you.

Jocko"

Billy Evans became an AL ump at age 22. He nearly died after being struck in the head by a bottle during a game in 1907.
