It is with more than a little sadness that I have decided to put my only Buzz Arlett card up for bids. It made my Ruth/Gehrig collection due to the fact that he was referred to as the Minor League Babe Ruth, but that's a bit of a stretch to make a Ruth collection, so here it is up for grabs.
This is a very rare 1932/33 Worch Cigar card of BUZZ ARLETT, one of the very few Buzz cards ever made. He is one of the only non-major league players who really transcends the sport into kind of an interesting icon. He was "the man" in the PCL for a long time, and historians love to argue about why he never became a big league star. There are other great threads on him on Net54 you can refer to. In Harry Turtledove's book "The House that George Built", Ruth and Buzz switch places and it is Ruth who only gets 1 season in the bigs. (

Unfortunately a previous owner actually wrote the set name on the back of the card, but otherwise the card really presents nicely.
