Default Sad News -- Mike Gallela

I was doing research for a Rich's Ramblings inspired by the Dave Hornish book thread and I noticed this from about 10 days ago:

http://obits.pennlive.com/obituaries...?pid=165652698

Mike was a football card dealer before football cards were cool.

Mike was a really good man and while I had not spoken to him in about 10 years, I will miss him dearly.

Rich

This is very sad news. I first met Mike in 1981 at the Willow Grove Show. A really great guy and a real gentleman who was willing to share his expertise
on FB and Non=Sports cards. Plus, he was very knowledgeable on BB cards, too.

We spent a lot of time together exchanging info on the LEAF (1948 & 1949) and the BOWMAN (1948 - 1952) FB card sets. Which resulted in Mike and I
co-authoring several FB card articles in SCD (circa 1982 - 1985).

Mike will be greatly missed.

GOD BLESS his soul and comfort his family

Like Ted, I knew Mike since the early 80's. He was a great guy and he'll be missed.
