Default 1991 Topps Variations

Are these worth hanging on to? I have no idea if any cards glow, do have a bunch of dark logos and know there's a bunch of other variations. I DO know I don't have any white frames, etc. Curious if they have any appeal still?

The Oil Can Boyd can bring good money. Not sure about any of the others. As far as glow backs and non glow backs. Neither are rare but I have seen some people trying to scam others with them.

Oil Can Boyd (flag tip), Mark Whiten (hand out of frame), and Chris Hoiles (border color difference) are the major $100 errors/variations. Only the real crazies go for the back differences or the sheet letters/asterisks.

Glad I am not a complete real crazy

I doubt a complete list of all possible variants to the 91 Topps set exists. Most of any Topps set

Not even close. 1998 or 1999 Tek has to be up there. 100 base cards, 90 parallels of each, plus additional diffractor parallels of the background parallels. Some ridiculous number of cards in a Master set.

Get a black light, and sort out the bold logo glow backs, which have scarcity over common cards.

Also look for "A* B*" before copyright cards, which had very limited production. I routinely sell commons for $5+.

I think the chipper RC with the red blotch on his hat is a limited variation too

I don’t believe that a 1998 Tek master set (including the diffractors) has ever been compiled. But for realistic, base Topps set, 1991 Topps has more variations than any other Topps base set if you count all of the pack issued base cards including: bold logos, A*B*, glow backs and all confirmed variations. And some count the Desert Shield and/or Tiffany cards.

It is definitely not limited at all. A very large chunk of the run received the print mark.

Cool, thanks. I already have the bolds segregated, awaiting my black light from Amazon, which I need for something else anyway.

And keep letting me know and I'll keep updating the COMC data base. I know there is still a while to go to finish but I want to keep working on this (and all the others).

Someone sent us a nice 1992 Topps Football request this morning with a missing stadium name on the back. I love stuff like that, keep em coming.

Rich
