Default Crazy PSA Holder?!

So, I had a nice day at the mailbox today with a few recent buys coming in (shown in pic for relative size).

BUT, what's the deal with that Chris Sale card?! The holder it's in is twice the size of a standard holder, and more than twice as thick...but it's a standard sized card.

Maybe the card is thicker than normal...but still. Very odd holder choice. Is this something PSA would re-holder into something smaller?

That’s a pack holder. PSA now has a thicker, but normal sized, holder for thick cards. That way it can stack with your other PSA-graded cards.

Pack holder makes sense, looking at it. Putting a card in it sure feels hacky!

Think PSA would re-holder into a more reasonable case? If so, may do that with my next psa sub as this is gonna be a pain to store as-is.

Depends how thick the card is, but probably. You'd have to pay the reholder fee, since it's just cosmetic. Yeah, there are some times they have run out of thick card holders and had to substitute these instead just to get the orders out the door.

Yeah, I figured it’d require the reholder fee. Probably worth it for ease of storage and I’d have to imagine cards in wonky cases take a resale hit.

Pretty lame that they do this kind of thing.

Default PSA holder

Hey, at least you have a holder. Have an order in assembly for over 4 weeks. They may be out of holders. Probably out in the bay in a cargo container from China.

I have no idea when that Sale was graded, but considering it doesn't have the PSA hologram, I imagine it's on the older side.

But things do seem to have slowed down at PSA of late. My order that got checked in Feb 4th (shipped in Nov) got graded, assembled, QA'ed and delivered...so I had high hopes that my order that got checked in Feb 16th (mailed in Dec) wouldn't be far behind...but no movement from grading.

Default PSA Submissions

Yep some strange things at PSA to be sure - but I have a little hope knowing you got your submission back that was checked in Feb 4th. One of mine got checked in on the 13th so hopefully before Christmas! When did your Feb 4th submission arrive back to you?

Value-Modern ($12 per card at time of submission) and the order is 20 cards.

The first sub above arrived today from PSA! About 5 days short of a year from when I shipped it!

The 2nd sub above has moved from Assembly to QA1.

Maybe the order should have stayed in QA a while longer, so someone could, I don't know...QA it.

Rare 1/1 "Rocards" variation.
