Default Sensational Ulysses S. Grant Letter With Civil War Content !

ULYSSES S. GRANT Full page letter 18th President of the United States and Union General Civil War. Fine content manuscript written in another hand and signed by Grant at conclusion as President of the Mexican Southern Railroad Company on business letterhead Measures 8 1/2 x 11 and dated June 15th, 1883 to Louis Garesche , orphaned son of Union Colonel Julius P. Garesche killed at Stone Mountain, In part " I would not be able to write of my own personal knowledge anything that would be of advantage in the biographical sketch of Col. Garesche..The accidents of service have not brought us together that I remember of since his graduation at West Point in 1841, I being two years after him at the military Academy , our personal acquaintance was very limited ...I know that he enjoyed the best of reputation at the Military Academy and also as officer of the Army" Fine condition , outstanding signature military content. Grant died in 1885 only two years after the letter was written. $2,500.00
