I just got issue #18 of Old Cardboard and I am in the middle of reading Tim Newcomb's fine article on the M116 set. This, along with the Old Judge book, offers us a new standard of literate and informative baseball card scholarship. Congrats to Tim for really nailing the set. I know there was a great deal of research here, something that Tim is quite skilled at.

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention Rob D.'s article on Num Num Potato Chips, as well as his picture and bio.

It was a fun article, and a fun set, to do!

A few weeks ago I posted some thank-yous to people who helped me with it, but it may have gotten buried by the holidays and so on, so let me post those thank-yous again here--

_______________________________________________

And also let me thank the many collectors who helped with the article during the several years of its gestation. I'm not going to be able to list everyone, but I should mention Alan Sassoon, Brian Parker, Bruce Babcock, Dan McKee, Ted Z., Dave McDonald, Matt Goebel, Scott Mosley, Kenny Cole, Dennis O'Brien, Bill Latzko, Bob Richardson, Brian McQueen, John Esch, Tony Galovich, and Andy Cook. Matt Wieder was a huge help and encouragement over the past year.

I also owe special thanks to those hobby savants Richard Masson, Scott Brockelman, and -- of course -- Mike Peich. Last but not least, thanks to my buddy TBob Marquette who helped to get me excited about the set a long time ago, and got rolling on a lot of the information that you'll see there.

Tim,

Thanks for the mention. Another great article - I started reading it between the mailbox and my front door. So what set are you going to detail for us next?

Andy

Yes Richard order it. Only $19.95 a year. Top notch.

P.S. And a special note of accomplishment to Paul G. on his fine W554 article.
