Type card player collecting ?
Posted By: Chris Mc
If a person were to put together a type card collection of one non hall of famer(to keep it affordable),who would appear in the most prewar sets? I was thinking maybe Bob Bescher. If money were no object, which H.O.F. would appear in the most prewar sets? |

I would take a guess that it would be Ty Cobb being in the most sets at at least 160 and sure there is more. Only because he was the best at the time and played for so long. |

Patsy Dougherty is in a number of sets. Good player in a lot of premier sets. I started because I had an e107, but gave up. Start with a player you have a very rare card of. Regards |

He pops up in a lot of cool sets, both Cuban and American. He must have had a lot of great stories with all the traveling he did. |

I have an alphabetical master list of all the prewar (pre-WW2) players that I own. The list has about 1940 different players on it, including minor leaguers in Obaks and so on. |
