Default New here, looking for Hank Greenberg

I'm also part of Freedom Cardboard, but I decided to venture over here to see what is going on in the pure vintage dept. I'm looking for Hank Greenberg, and solely Hank Greenberg. Here is the link to my bucket.

Welcome to net54! Here's the Greenberg from my Diamond Stars set. I have an extra 1980's Perez-Steele postcard of Greenberg if you still need that card. You can email me at brad_green@cox.net.

Default Hank Greenberg Help

Need help from Hank Greenberg fans. This looks like a 7 1/2" x 10" blank back premium (I think). I picked it up years ago and have no idea where I got it. Anyone know what it is Thanks D.

My first thought was that the above picture is a 1934 Butterfinger. The Butterfingers measure about 7 3/4 by 9 3/4, have a blank back and have a facsimile autograph like yours. However, it's not a Butterfinger as Greenberg was not in that set. It might be a team-issued photo of some type. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge on premiums will be able to help you.

Tragically, the condolences post(s) passed away about a week ago. Consequently, Jeff will be unable to offer condolences.............but he does offer condolences to the condolences post(s).

Lovely Day...

Default Iggy, thank you...

because for those who know me well, there is one thing they will verify, and that is that I never know when a joke is dead.

the bittersweet irony, then, that I would attempt humor regarding the passing of anything, be it a person, a joke, or ...my credibility....

Smartasses! This sort of rank humor just makes it impossible for me to fully enjoy this site. Now I'm going to have to take a break for a few hours so that when I come back I can enjoy it again in the manner in which it was intended. So I offer myself condolences for this bleak interlude.

I knew I had this but couldn't find it until doing some cleaning up today: Hank Greenberg's personal, bound copy of the 1950 edition of Official Baseball Rules published by The Sporting News (RIP, for all practical purposes).
