Default New here, & new to vintage

Hello folks. I'm Kevin and sometimes I make long-winded, rather meandering, but sometimes interesting posts. This could be one of them, I'm not sure yet.

I was born & raised in Milwaukee, and moved here to Phoenix about 7 years ago.
I'm a life-long Brewers fan, but only because I was born 9 years too late to enjoy the Milwaukee Braves - who are the focus of my new hobby goals.

I've collected as a kid until around 92, but then college and career path interrupted all that. I got back into cards around 10 years ago to find a very different landscape, but one I got into with just as much vigor and a bit more money than the previous. While I'll still have focus on the newer side of cards, I've recently decided to satisfy the vintage bug within.

Hearing accounts about the Braves and general stories about Milwaukee in the 50s and early 60s, I've always admired but never felt connected to that era.
I've recently read more books about the Braves and struck up more conversations with family and friends to soak in their memories. Of course I've always been aware of the Braves as a franchise, but never grasped the passion and connection that the Braves and Milwaukee shared. The stories told to me and the overall chapter of the Milwaukee Braves in general is incredible. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, it's only been recently that I've discovered I DO have a connection with this team after all.

I'm certain my path into vintage will come with wrong turns, hoops to jump through, a never-ending learning process, mistakes, challenges, disappointment, but eventually triumph. Especially considering that for the time being I'm not against raw cards and am not entirely worried about condition.

Also, I do plan on bringing some value to the boards, no matter how miniscule.
For the time being however, I'm just looking for some Knowledge and Milwaukee Braves cards & memorabilia.

Well my introduction did indeed get a bit long-winded, but hey - it could have been worse. Wish me luck!

See you around,
Fleenor

Well, at least you know what to expect! Funny how true that is. ^^^

Welcome aboard, Kevin! This is a great place to learn about the hobby. Just collect what you like and the rest should fall into place.
