Default Just a Suggestion - Buy/Sell/Trade area

Posted By: Jerry

I'm a new member to the forum and enjoy it very much. As far as the B/S/T forum goes , I have been reluctant to pull the trigger on some of the cards listed because I didn't recognize the poster at the time. I was wondering if it would be a good idea or fesible to have some sort of a Feedback forum as part of the B/S/T, where you could post that you had a good trade or transaction with a member. Therefore noobs like me would have a place to check for refrences. Just a suggestion. Please delete if I'm out in Left Field on this.
Happy Collecting
Jerry

Jerry,

I think you will find that there have been surprisingly few problems using the b/s/t thread. I have bought and sold to many people I didnt know at the time and have never had a problem. If you dont recognize the name of a person offering a card, I would suggest emailing some of the board members who's names you do recognize and ask if they have any info on the person.

Jerry,

I stop by every once in awhile to check the b/s/t, but not spending too much time here I often don't recognize names. That said, I've probably had 10-12 transactions and have never had even the slightest problem.

Chris

I have looked for some kind of a feedback system with NET54 and there isn't one. Although it's definitely caveat emptor over there I have not heard of any deals going sour....there have been a few that got a little sideways but overall I think 99.9% of them have been good for the buyer and seller. You can always shoot me an email for a reference and if I know, or know of the person, I will let you know... It's a lot safer there than on ebay although we don't have a feedback system. I do always want to know of any big issues as I will try to help...but for the most part I do stay out of the transactions.....kind regards

If you consider doing something with someone you don't know, just ask for a reference from the board.

board members are listed in the link section. if you are doing business with a member not listed, you can request an ebay id or board referrence.
i've done a lot of deals on bst, none have gone south.

Many of the members have their eBay ID's listed in the "Vintage Links" link at the top of the page, so you can always check feedback. I will say this though, despite my excellent eBay feedback, I am not to be trusted.

What about Leon? Who does the background check on him? :-p The board is just one big scam for him to acquire the really cool rare stuff

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

I used to think that also when there were other moderators. You can ask them about it too...so far being moderator has helped me get 0 good deals....I'm out here just like the rest of us...hunting and pecking...now, if you really want to ask someone about deals ask 'ole Bigfish.....that guy is all over the place....

I have done several transactions on the B/S/T threads with out a problem. Barry Slate, Leon, David Levin, Tom, and Charlie O'Neal. Every time I sent my money I received my cards. If I've omitted someone its just an oversite due to CRS. I'll amend later. joe
