Default Babe coin-bank -- any ideas?

Someone at another forum we frequent asked for any and all information about this ceramic coin-bank.
Anyone seen it before? We think it's a 1970s-80s item of negligible value, but what do we know...
All we have for sure is that it's 23" high. Any and all insights on it are appreciated...

The fact that it’s Red Sox is kinda interesting...

Thanks for the input so far. Others commenting in the forum at which the question was originally posed
offered links to auctions/sales of a Yankee version of the piece, including a sale for an astonishing (to us, anyway)
$640. at ITPC in 2015:

-- as well as these two Yankee comparables:

I like how they have the "3" on the Yankees jersey, but nothing on the Red Sox one, at least whoever did those didn't make that rookie mistake and botch it.

Interesting that the Yankees version does not include the giant timber up the Babe's fanny. The facial expression would make it appear that he's ok with it.

Some alert non-sports person on the forum at which inquiry was originally made points to another Red Sox example:

Was going to say. People have said a lot of negative things about Babe over the years, but never heard anyone say "that guy had a real stick up his ass."

Haha... It might be a base (turned on it's end). Not sure why they even thought to do this, but if you were to rotate the statue sideways, I think you'd see that it's a base and not a stick.
