Default Help for 1969 Topps sheet patterns

The 1969 Topps regular issue had 664 cards. This was printed in series as:

Series 1 (1-109, with check 1 printed in two different rows). 110 cards

Series 2 (110-218, with check 2 printed again). 110 cards

Series 3 (219 -327, with check 3 again). 110 cards

Series 4 (328 to 425, with check 4 again). 99 cards

Series 5 (426 - 512, with check 5 again). 88 cards

Series 6 (513 - 588, + check 6). 77 cards

Series 7 (589 - 664, + check 7).

I have seen a sufficient amount of images for uncut and miscut material for series 1, 2, 4, 5, & 6 to reconstruct both slits for each of those series.

However, I haven't seen much for either series 3 or series 7. If anyone has some relevant material for those two series, please PM me or post and image. Any help would be much appreciated.

Default Help for 1969 Topps series 7

Another member sent an image of a different panel, posted here. I suspect these nine cards at near the bottom right edge of one of the slits.

69series7_9cards.jpg

Series 7 has 77 cards, so the most likely pattern is 4 rows 3x each (SPs) plus 3 rows 4x each.

Still looking for miscuts so that the edge cards (both leading and trailing) can be identified. Found this miscut of #616 that suggests it is a top row of one slit.

1969_616_T.jpg

And found this miscut of Murcer,, #657, which indicates it is above Held, #636.

Don't know if it's still needed but I have images of the 2 5th series slits - grabbed them off google years ago. Someone thought it'd be helpful to layer a large Mantle across one, but you can still ID the hidden cards by the rows they're in.

On the subject of 1969 uncut sheets - it seems we have 1 1st series slit (Brock upper left), 1 2nd Series slit (McDaniel upper left), ZERO 3rd series slits,1 4th series slit (McCovey AS upper left), both 5th series slits, ZERO 6th series, and one 7th frankenstein slit with Ellsworth in the upper left.

Does anyone know of any other slits or partials there are?

How good a job did they do in the cutting process in 1969 - are there enough miscuts to try to make a go at the unknowns?

This should be the other slit for series 2 in 1969, I think it's an image from Anthony Nex:

I think Kevin has all of that information other than complete Slits of the 3rd Series, if anyone has severe miscuts of 1969 3rd Series McAndrew, F. Johnson, Kubiak, Elia, McAuliffe, Sutherland, Davalillo, C. King, Shirley, or Hendricks I would be eternally grateful.

Checked my 1969 Topps 2rd series cards and did not have any you are looking for. Did find a miscut #317 Bruce Look.

Look should have Brandon to his left, Perez to his right, Landis above him, and Indians Rookie Stars under him.

Thanks Cliff. Can't tell much from my card but it is definitely above a rookie stars card.

2nd Series Rack Pack with collation that is consistent with slit A of the 2nd Series. Both Leo Durochers (front) with Clay Dalyrymple (Oriole version) in back. Wilbur Wood in front with Jim French in back consistent with alignment in two separate rows. Probably have 2 Pete Roses with Gem Mint corners in this pack though centering is uncertain

I believe that this rack pack originated from the 2nd Series slit that I shared given the pairings of-

Gibson 2nd series checklist (Front)- Pete Ward (back)
Tommy Davis (Front)- Game 4 of World Series (back)
Jim Perry (Front)- Gerry Arrigo (back)

I honestly can't predict which cards are in between

1969 1st Series Rack Pack. Card pairs align with 1st series slit rows-
Norm Miller (front)- Tommy Harper (back)
Jesus Alou (front)- Paul Popovich (back)
#8 NL ERA Leaders (front)- Mike Ferraro (back)

However, they are very far apart across the sheet. Not certain how this collation occurred.

1969 Topps 1st Series pack with complementary pairs based on 1st series sheet

Al McBean (front)- Ron Perranoski (back)
Norm Cash (front)- Bob Humphrey (back)
Jim Hickman (front)- Russ Gibson (back)

I can't tell if there is any hope to have Brock, Clemente or Aaron in between. The collation follows no pattern that I can recognize
