Default Babe Ruth plates

Posted By: Pete Z.

This guy at an antique show had three printing plates - two with images of Babe Ruth and one with an image of his wife. One of the images of Babe was a close-up of his face and the other was of him in a leisure suit. The prints were dated 1944. The guy said he'd seen the image of the close-up of Babe's face on a card (maybe the infamous fro-joy). The plates were made of either a thick glass or lead material. As far as price, the guy didn't want to venture, except to say he'd probably want in the thousands for each.... At that point in the discussion I had to exit politely, I was thinking somewhere on the order of a couple hundred each. Does anybody have any idea of what these things are worth? Thanks.

I would guess that your price was the closer of the two.
