To my knowledge, both of these are unique and from a set still never identified, but perhaps related to the Four-on-One Exhibits.

I cover them in my Exhibit book. A set of 10 issued in a horizontal strip using the art from the PC back set.

They appear to correspond with the subjects on the earliest 4 on 1 Exhibit cards that mix baseball, boxing and entertainment. Here are a few more:

FWIW, they are real rarities.

Default Old Put Rarities

The only Orange Old Put backed E98 that I have ever seen......unfortunately, sometime in the last 110 years, someone laminated it! I am 99% it is authentic though.

CRAIG, YOUR 1886 H812 WELTON CIGARS BUCK EWING IS MY FAVORITE CARD IN THIS THREAD SO FAR, YET EVERYTHING THAT EVERYONE HAS POSTED THUS FAR IS PRETTY AMAZING STUFF!

You're right about it being the top of an exhibit. It's the top of the exhibit that you posted in post 52, just a different color. I really like these strips, exhibit cut outs. I'll have to pick one up one of these days.

Sadly (sort of) I recognize many of the cards in this thread. At least they went to good homes.

Plate example E100s used in Lew's Encyclopedia. Type 1s are tough. Type 2s are exponentially tougher as many on this board know.

Here's another example for the thread. Both the Cobb and Wagner were not known to be part of the set until I shared these with SCD back in the 1990s.

Nice Ware's cards!!! Only wish I knew about them years ago.... would have ventured into the basement of the old place (unseen of course) and see if any were tucked away in corners...

I know this one isn't baseball but it's still a scarce prewar card.

This is an e79 with a rare red back instead of the common black back.

These are neat, too. Kind of get to see the making of a card process. I believe these were rejects of the plan for Obaks.

OK, these 1943 M & P Co. strip cards are not really scarce....individually.

But, how often do you see an original (8-card) uncut strip ? ?
