Default T206 opened Cigarette boxes!

Posted By: T206man

I notice this piedmont box sold On ebay. However I don't think im educated in this field to purchase yet. I do want to own an opened piedmont box or to be specific on the brands. I'd like to get one in nice condition opened or good eye appeal. However I have no idea of the rarity. I was wondering how rare these are? Also is it hard to get one in a nice condition? Is it way more expensive to get one in a great condition?

I passed on this one because the whole box is not photographed. Also Im unsure of where these value. How often they sell ? This sold for $50-$60 today.

Here are the photos. Nice eye appeal just don't know how brittle the box is. Also I think the color could be darker in certain places. the back is hard to tell through the picture. I wonder if these come on the market often or not. I just don't know thier market.

What bothers me about this box is the tax stamp or pieces of 2 different tax stamps. In the first picture you see the top of the tax stamp on the top of the box. In the second picture you see the same piece on the front of the box. Also note that in the second picture that the thumb is hiding the fact that the piece of tax stamp is misaligned with the one on the front of the box.
The second picture also shows overprinting, where the front one doesn't. What's missing completely is the top of Dewitt/Clinton's head from any of the tax stamps. I suspect this box was doctored with another piece of a tax stamp from another box.

No doctoring going on.... looks like the Piedmont pack just has a different slide from another pack.

One of my Favorite packs.

Seeing the Ligett & Myer name on a piedmont should make very leery right away.

I love pinatas. You get to beat the crap of something and get rewarded with candy.

The ATC labelled Piedmont boxes included 150/350 Series T206 cards out of Factory 25
in Virginia.

The L&M labelled Piedmont boxes are Factory 42 (North Carolina) and included 460 Series
T206's.

How hard is it to come by these slide-out piedmont boxes?

Piedmont and Sweet Caporal's are the easiest to find of all the T206 packs. Give yourself a little bit of time.. they come up every so often on eBay.
