Cards that CAN and CANNOT be washed
Got a text from my wife earlier:
Wife - "Baseball card in washer. Cleveland. Drying" Me - "What??? Who is on it? Name?" Wife - "It just says Cleveland. I'm leaving it out to dry. Was in 2 cases so it was protected" (I keep my raw T206s in a tobacco size penny sleeve and toploader) Me - "Pic please" My first thought was that I had brought home a Young green portrait last week from work. There was a real sense of panic. I asked her who was on the card and she sent me a photo. Instant relief. I have 2 or 3 copies of the T206 Bradley but I can't remember why I would have had one in my pocket (unless one of my kids helped it find it's way to the washing machine). I'm glad she caught it before it went into the dryer. From the photo there doesn't appear to be any real damage done. Maybe I'll try running a T206 with paper glued to the back through the gentle cycle to see if that works. |
