I am pretty sure Bob Gibson and Fergie Jenkins are 2 of the 5.

Wow, you guys got 3 of the 5 already!

Yes, Bob Gibson, Fergie Jenkins and Lou Brock all reportedly played for the Harlem Globetrotters.

Bob Gibson was the first African American to play for Creighton's basketball team in College, and averaged over 20 points a game. They retired his #45 number and he is in the Creighton sports Hall of Fame. After signing with the Cardinals he had brief stint with the Globetrotters in 1957, and was roommates with the famed Meadowlark Lemon until the Cardinals reportedly offered him more money to focus strictly on baseball.

Even after winning 20 games for the Chicago Cubs, pitcher Ferguson Jenkins suited up for the Globetrotters during the off-seasons from 1967 to 1969.

After winning a World Series title in 1967 with the Cardinals, speedster Lou Brock also played a handful of games for the court jesters.

I am pretty sure that the Army allowed Ernie Banks to occasionally play for the Globetrotters when they were near his stationed base.

I think Satchel Paige played with them briefly AFTER his MLB career……

You guys are too good. You got all 5 without a single incorrect answer.

Ernie Banks did indeed play with Harlem Globetrotters while in the Army during the Korean War in the early 1950s.

And Satchell Paige appeared with the Harlem Globetrotters in the late 50's and early 60's.

Well done everybody.

I love these trivia questions. I post them occasionally on my CBS Fantasy Baseball site. Nobody ever gets them.

No idea. Interesting that there were even white guys that played for them.

I know the founder Abe Saperstein would occasionally play as a sub when needed. No idea on the other 2 without googling.
