Default 1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson

I did a crossover on a 1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson from BVG to SGC. Both were given the “A” designator. Not sure if that is reflected in the spreadsheet?

My other JJs have been posted, so I'll post this as something different. Game used ball (likely the last out ball) from Game 5 of the 1919 world series...one of the thrown games.

Default Joe Jackson

One of my favorite collecting interests so this thread is really interesting and informative. Don`t have any other Jackson cards, memorabilia more my style, other than this one. Enclosed is my T 202 but what really makes it cool for me, it`s the only Factory 30 Black ink version I`ve come across. Keep them coming, never enough Shoeless! So many amazing Jackson cards, in addition to photos and other items. Have retitled this discussion thread to include this increased scope, all worthy of our attention, wonder and celebration.

Joe Jackson and the Black Sox have always been one of my big collecting interests.
I'd like to add an M101-5, 14 CJ, Collins-McCarthy, Boston Store, etc eventually...but they come up for sale so infrequently and usually far outside my price range.

Since we have somewhat branched out with Joe items here`s an interesting piece. Katie, Joe`s wife, handled auto requests of which Joe surely got many. Was surprised that she actually had time to write a short note informing one of Joe`s fans that he had indeed passed away, even enclosing the time frame of her husbands death. Have seen Katie`s auto of Joe but rarely her own.

WOW! Truly incredible cards and memorbilia, thank you all for sharing.
Jeff - I always enjoy seeing your collection and watching it grow
Ryan - The Spinners composite is incredible.
Jay - I'm speechless, truly mueseum worthy pieces. The t210 is awesome, but the Vic Mills Type 1 photo - Holy shit!
Chris - I'm not a pennant collector, but if I was, that would be on my dream list.
Ed- Love the W601, I have a few of my own, but nothing with Jackson and ithe shape it's in, just fantastic.

I'm glad somebody posted the m113, thank you Paul.

There are least 3 variations of the Jackson m113, each with distinctly different captions (among the most obvious differences are the 'J' in his name).

I believe that the first was released in Sept 1912, and the other two came later, presumably as more were needed. I believe that yours was a later printing (and it's in way better condition than mine, so if you get bored of it, let me know).

Here are what I believe to be the first printing, and closeups of the three known caption variations :

Nice! That exact card was my first W514 Joe Jackson! I sent it in to PSA for slabbing.
I bought it from a member on here and sold it to another member on here. Great to see it stay in the Net54 family.
Enjoy!

Default Joe Jackson

Hey guys,

Don't get too excited, this is only a repro. Nevertheless, it's the only Collins-McCarthy Joe Jax on display so far here.

Thanks

And I think the 1917 Joe Jackson all version are under appreciated and under priced especially compared to the increases seen in other Joe Jackson cards

Heritage Auctions' sale of Joe Jackson's 1913 M101-2 Sporting News Supplement in PSA 1.5 went for over $16K!

That's a big price on the Cracker Jack. It was a beautiful 2 (in a new PAS holder as well). It sure feels like the market for Cracker Jacks, and the Jackson specifically, has really been heating up lately.

agree it seems like all Joe Jackson cards and related collectables have really started to take off in last several months

even the 1916 M101-4/5 blank backs and ad backs are going thru the roof

and look at the prices of the blankets and the pennants

Default Joe Jackson ads

Here's an ad dated 10/5/1919. Right during the World Series. I also have 1911 ad where he is endorsing Hats and a 1918 ad where he is endorsing a pharmaceutical product.

A Black Sox player advertising Black Jack Chewing Gum - seems appropriate!

Val, love the notebook and wish I never sold mine a while back. Jeff, awesome catalog and you are a machine buying up all the cool stuff! This item below I’ve always loved being an ink blotter/postcard. Came out of a former members collection who was a great supporter of the the board who passed. It’s possible it’s Joe Jackson’s rarest card being population of one but it wouldn’t shock me if there was another somewhere out there.

That is an awesome piece (along with so many of the other ones shown). FWIW, I think I would call this more of a postcard than an ink blotter.

This and the Cobb CJ are two of the best looking cards all time. Wish I had this one back...(same card cracked from sgc to psa). Anyone here own it now?

Ksato,

Welcome to the forum. You might find this interesting. It appears that the cut signature on your card originates from this lot in a November 1994 Lelands auction.

Not mine...yet. Large in size at roughly 13x19 but very small in the quantity available.
