Lightning Strikes Twice
Lightning really does strike twice. Last month I picked up the PSA 1 Plank that I had spent a long time looking for. Imagine my surprise when I found a second one, graded a PSA 2, a short time later. It just arrived this past week. A successful BST transaction with Brian S. He's a really great guy and it was a very smooth transaction. Thank you Brian!!

Some really great stuff so far this month!
I've had an exciting couple weeks also, just getting around to posting these from the last Heritage auction. One of my favorite cards in the hobby is 1933 Goudey #144, and it's becoming apparent from the state of the market that I'll probably never own one. But no matter, here is the same pose, except that it's ten times bigger and 25% of the price I also picked up this 1934 Quaker Oats premium. Probably overpaid a little, but my grandfather (who I always thought looked a little like Babe Ruth) worked for the Quaker Oats company for 35 years, and I couldn't pass up a playing-days Ruth premium with a family connection. It also came with the original mailing envelope. These are the first Ruth pieces that I've ever owned, very excited to get them in.

Dan,
those Ruth premiums are very nice. They both show the actual bat well and the pinky hanging off the knob. |
