Lost a purple "floating head" Melchior on a late, late snipe but managed to win these 2 other E99s:

Nice pickups Bob! Don't feel bad about the Melchior - everyone knows he runs like a sissy.

Two nice cards Bob! I really like the Lindsay. Though I thought long and hard about it I did not bid late on the Melchoir.

That e99 Melchior is one cool looking card. Sorry you missed it though the two pickups are dandy as well.

I wasn't going after the Melchior though I did pickup a Z11 Melchior on ebay this morning. happy.gif

Hey Bob,

Thanks. Not really a registry purchase - though my set is on the registry. Ive been looking to upgrade my SGC 40 Matty. Probably would have preferred a 50, but they seem to be few and far between and dont typically sell for that much of a discount to the 60s.

Living on Hawaii Standard Time has its advantages. Auction closed just before the ten o'clock news came on. Of the cards I won only the E93 Leach got any serious activity after supper.

Holy Moses! Vintage cards, scantily-clad Polynesian maidens, plenty penguins, authentic Dutch people and more.

Steve- You may be the luckiest guy alive. BINing that card for $169.99 when it would have easily gone for $1000+ at auction. Congrats.

Looking for this one for a bit. Lost out late on the Ramly TTT (underbidder) and then readjusted funds to a Vintage Football set.

Whilst we here at Americas Wierdest Wantlist LLC understood this was going to be a very noisy affair, we remained undetered and resolute ....so we put in our earplugs and went to bed early.

..and what did our wondering eyes see under the tree this morning ?

hey jk very nice matty!!! it was either or for me, happy with the e95, not as attractive as your 93, but still i like it. (e95)i held it up close at the philly show and took a loop to it, lets say you will be very happy!!

t-bob, nice picks. very nice, i placed half hearted bids on a few e99's, but with what i was going after i couldnt chase more cardboard

david m- beauties! congrats

jeff prinzer- nice mack, i seen it and loved it, but i went nuts enough, enjoy it's a winner.

also everone else, great buys. next up rea..oh boy!

i seriously thought about the green cobb, but when i looked at it at the philly show i didnt like it. i was able to view all of the cards.

As for me, I picked up a few e99s also, my favorite being the Smith.

I liked that E99 Smith card too and was the underbidder on it and a few other 99s that I think you picked up. Congrats! At least we kept them in the "(54) family."

This will probably be the equivilant of putting a kick me hard sign on my rear end, but here goes.

I picked up this card for it's opening bid price.

[linked image]

I thought it would be a good addition to my type card collection.

Being a mere neophyte in cards this old (my experience and most of my dealings are in the dreaded 50's cards), I was wondering why this card went without bids until mine made at the very end.

Educate me please.

Texas Ted
