Thanks guys - Matt the Burkett was a National pickup and the Wright I found on ebay. I have wanted these cards for years and I find them both within about 10 days of each other. Funny how that works out sometimes...

Default Waddell RC!!

Possibly the most coveted of all my pickups over the years. 1900 Sporting News Supplement (M101-1) Waddell. Would like to thank Matt Wieder for a great transaction and for helping me in my quest to acquire as many Waddell items as I can.

And it looks much better in person then in the scans which was a very pleasant surprise. Thanks again Matt!

Hard to believe you can get a baseball "card" from 1920, autographed by a Hall of Famer, for well under $100 at a show ....but there you have it!

I picked up this Ruth beater recently. I think it looks good from looking at the Alterations FAQ for M101-5. However, can anyone else confirm?

It's GAI, and I think/hope GAI can still figure out authenticity at least, but the weird thing is that the cert # returned Cert Not Found at GAI's website. Obviously GAI has its issues, and I'm planning on crossing over the card to PSA or SGC fairly soon. The card has a tear in it, so it's very fragile, so I might have to go to BVG to get it holdered.

Very nice Waddell Rookie piece, Rob!

Picked one of those up myself a while back, even think I posted it in the monthly pick-ups thread at that time, did not seem to generate much interest from anyone.

Rob (and Phil) GREAT piece! Is Beckett the only grading company that will grade larger items like that? It seems like SGC and PSA are missing out on a growing piece of the market.

Dan:

As of right now, Beckett is the only one of the three with a holder large enough to encapsulate M101-1's. The size is almost exactly at their max limit of approximately 8 3/4" X 11".

Default Thanks to Everyone

Thank you to all of you who bid and all of you who won. You guys made it successful! I called my grandma to let her know what she would be getting and she was over whelmed.

If any of you are curious what that Horizontal Morris went for:

Default Congrats on T210's Daniel - Bob - Ralph !

Daniel - Nice auction of T210's ! Some really nice seldom seen minor leaguers... The Morris auction must have been a dog fight at nearly 5 bones. That is a tough card !

Bob - Nice haul of 10's ! You keep adding to the pile and at fair prices.

Ralph - Congrats as well - I think your Gordon - Waco card may have a hint of Orange on it (It looks like one of those OB cards that is pre-orange border... Day glow color with hints of light red to melting orange...

Thanks Jeremy, there was a lot of spirited bidding but fair final prices, I thought. There's been so much attention given lately to the series 6 and 7 and 8 cards that sometimes people forget that there are some toughies in series 3, not quite as scarce but several are very hard to find, especially in nice shape. I filled some holes in series 3 of this gigantic set

Jeremy - Thanks, it is definitely more Red than my Orange card. But it does look like it maybe a inbetween shade. I will post a side by side when it arrives.

I was able to add 3 new cards to my Houston team set and upgrade two more. I also picked up my first Galveston card. I still need Hornsby to complete the Houston set if anyone has or sees one. Congrats on the auction Dan and thanks for helping me out.

I finished my "Tubby" Spencer Zeenut run. Don't know why I've always liked Tubby, but with a nickname like that how can you not?

(Note: The 1922 is shown twice becase there is a slight "sepia variation")
