Default Scarce card crosses from PRO to PSA

Posted By: TBob

Is this not the card which was recently entombed in a PRO holder and sold on eBay? I may be mistaken but it sure looks like its twin if it is not.

I wonder if it measures up correctly?

Being that it was once a PRO graded card ... I have my doubts ... but I don't know the seller and he may just have been lucky to find some shinola in a s$&%y slab.

It was in an ASA holder. Either way it is no great accomplishment to get something by the graders at PSA.

Edited to add this link. I was thinking of this card.

Greg- check your scans of the left and right borders, this isn't the same card that was in the ASA holder although both appear in very similar condition. One is 10-90 centered, the other 90-10.

Greg, maybe I am just confusing the card now on ebay with the one which was in the ASA holder, two different cards, but I could swear I saw the PSA card in a PRO 8 holder some months ago.

Bob,

You could be right. The ASA version was the one that I was thinking of and the PSA 5 and the ASA 7 are not the same cards.

There was a NM 7 E90-3 Tinker that ended on 11/21/03 for 333. This could be the PRO graded card. I did not note the basement grading company that graded this example.

Greg

Greg,

My records show it as a PRO holder.

No way in he** would I let a E90-3 Tinker in anything close to legitimate NM go for only $333. I didn't keep a scan of the old auction and If they are the same card I'm not surprised it is in a PSA holder now.

And we all know PSA will grade just about anything. I am never shocked as to what I see in a PSA holder these days.

In fact I am still confused why PRO is in business. The folks who submit to PRO must know that they can get the same cards through PSA.

My experiences with both PSA and SGC -- mostly grading T202s and T205s -- have included having cards not graded for one reason or another....

Hope I haven't opened the door for another anti-PSA jihad...

I tried clicking on their website today and couldn't ever access it. I had no problems with SGC, PSA or GAI websites, just PRO.
