T207 back question
Posted By: jay behrens
I was just reading the bios on the 207s I have and noticed that the Clyde Milan card has brown ink on the back instead of the usual black. It is the same color brown you find on the back many of the caramel cards such as e93, 95, etc. It is a Recruit facotry 240 back. Has anyone else noticed this? |

T207 back question

I saved scans of all t207's I've owned, and the Milan is definitely different. I compared the back to other t207's with similar amount of ink, and it's still a slightly different color. |

Here is a scan of my Milan, a black ink 207 and an e98 with similar color ink to the Milan. |

T207 back question

just examined 3 milans i have and all are black ink backs, one is a bit weakly printed which makes it look a touch lighter, but all are definitely black, i suggest the brown appearance is just an ink shade/environmental difference, obviously this one card was printed as part of a sheet and not by itself. so other cards may have a similar shade variation as well, but i do not believe there is a distinct brown print. |

my scanner doesn't do the color justice and I am not that adpet at playing with color correction, but in person, the difference between the back of the Milan and the other 207s is easily spotted. As you mentioned, I would expect to see other cards with brown ink and not just the Milan. I really doubt the ink on my Milan is an oxidized black. If that were the case, I would think that you would see a lot more of it. Someone with more knowledge about printing than me and probably say for sure, but I think black is one of those colors that fades, but will never 'mutate' to a radically different shade/hue. |
