....and you can add Altuve to players I'd rather have then Trout.

....and probably Arod & Jeter too.

Altuve and trash cans you mean...

Arod and medical assistance.

They also dont play the same position.....pretty sure if Jeter on the Angels with no Trout they are no better..

I actually don't mind steroids guys. May will shorten their lives if they overdid it like Ken Caminiti, Alzado & Matuszak and others, but hey it's their choice & price for fame. I'd say 90-95% of the NFL used them in the 1980's and 1990's and no one cares. Plenty of Roid users in the NFL HOF. No one cares, they all are celebrated.

Tatis, Judge, Trout, Ortiz, Clemens, Big Mac, Barry, they all use/used something.

This is ok, but this isn't. Here use this, it will go undetected. This is not a steroid, but will product the same results as a steroid.

Some just got away with it, others got caught.

Bagwell used steroids he's in the HOF, Palmeiro used them he's not in the HOF. Poppy used them he's in. ZERO consistency. So we should celebrate some and discount others? Doesn't make sense to me, so I choose to accept anything that was done on the baseball field. I could use all the steroids in the world and I ain't hitting 60-70 homers in a season. That's a skill that has ZERO to do with steroids. And if Clemens is using them and Sosa or Bonds hits a homer off him or he strikes them out, isn't that EVEN. I think Petite used them as well, so if pitchers were using and hitters were using it just cancels it out.

Baseball has been all about getting an advantage from spitballs in the early 1900's, Hal Chase, the Black Sox, possible Cobb & Speaker, the NY Giants in 1951 sign stealing, amphetamines of the 60's & 70's, Coke with Strawberry Hernandez Gooden and others, Vasoline with Gaylord Perry and others, Steroids, Corked Bats, Garbage Cans, shit they still check pitchers after every inning for cheating.

I can't block only Bonds, Arod and Clemens. If they got away with it so be it, many others did as well and you have no idea who.

Catch em and stop em at the time they are doing it. If you don't, too bad. Still have yet to see a bodybuilder hit home runs or strikeout 20 batters in a game. Steroids are just another advantage, like vasoline, amphetamines, spitballs, sign stealing, etc.

People always say those things during a conversation about HGH and steroids. Amphetamines are not the same as steroids or HGH. No one's body is altered by amphetamines. Your head is not going to grow. Your entire body is not going to create mass. You may be more alert and less susceptible to pain, but that's true of a thousand medications other than amphetamines. HGH and steroids are different and there is nothing else like them. You aren't going to take a greenie and have a bigger foot a month from now.

People always go to the his head grew argument.

Did Hogan's head grow from taking steroids?

How many Home Runs did he hit, brother?

I would love to read a coherent, non meme argument that it is more reasonable to think that Bonds did not use steroids than that he did.

Or that Trout’s performance is garbage, and he is a poor major league player.

I dont understand the HOF argument when take steroids or whatever, Trout will be the the HOF so who cares about all the other ones..thats not what we were arguing about.. HOF doesnt decide who is better when they are all in the HOF.... I guess Pete Rose is worse than every HOF player since he is not in the HOF....not sure what the point is about Bagwell being in the HOF..... when deciding whether Trout was better than his laundry list of 'better' players, some which took steroids or had trash can aid....

Because his original argument is just meme shitposting and impossible to defend on logical grounds, so random other topics have to be injected instead of defending the original absurdity that Trout is garbage.

How about this.....that meathead, Trout, is THEE DUMBEST player of all time!!!!

Can we at least all agree on this?

Playoff baseball is so exciting!!!!!

Does not matter what 2 teams are playing.
(NHL Playoffs is like this too, but that's another story)

How that MORON chooses the Angels and money over this is beyond me.

Most threads end up ruined by some troll or fanboy insistently posting their fan fiction fantasies as if they are objectively true. Usually those takes are somehow less of a shitpost than this one.

To anyone who watched Bonds in his 73 HR season, there is no question he was on SOMETHING. And yes, he was a great player otherwise, perhaps more plate discipline than anyone who ever played the game, and an array of superb skills. But even so, that was not natural.

let's put it this way.

if you were in the majors list the top 20 teams you sign with.

can guarantee you would not have the Angels in it, unless you were from there.

might be in the bottom 3-4.

it's like re-signing a long term deal with the Detroit Lions.

See how much more reasonable it sounds to say you think he shouldn't have signed with the Angels, than the 3rd grade all caps hyperbolic insults?

I notice some like to whine about names because it cuts off effective ad hominems and pushes them to engage with the actual statements instead of unrelated attacks on the person.

So, by that logic, being a New York Knick would be one of the 2-3 worst options for a basketball player. The Las Vegas Raiders would be a bottom 3-4 destination for an NFL player. The New York Mets would be waiting for the Angels scraps, since they are definitely below the Angels in accomplishments the past 20 years.

The Angels have nothing going for them except: (1) 2 of the 5 most talked about players in MLB; (2) the best weather in the country; (3) local media does not crucify players every time the team loses a couple of games; (4) an owner who historically has paid top of the market to bring in talent (though it has backfired on a few occasions, most recently Rendon); and (5) the option to live your life without being mobbed for being a celebrity. All of this while living in one of the two biggest best markets for food, culture and entertainment in the US.

All of the teams in your "Top 20 MLB teams" list have had a stretch like the Angels, yet the talented players on the Angels still have tremendous marketability and national exposure, which is not always the case for top players in other markets, like Cleveland, Minnesota and Tampa Bay.

You make excellent points......for someone who cares more about location & other fluff then winning.

He could have had pretty much all you mentioned if he just went across town and played for a winner.

So then a player should always go to the place that offers him the easiest path to championships? So Kawhi was an idiot for not joining the Lakers three years ago when they had just acquired AD. AD + Lebron + Kawhi would have virtually guaranteed a good 4-5 year run of titles, barring major injuries. He and Durant could have gone down 1-2 as the greatest NBA players of all time with all their rings on stacked teams.

I guess Aaron Judge should just go ahead and sign with the Dodgers this offseason, along with Correa and deGrom. Nobody cares about competition in sports, it is just about the one holding the trophy. I can just tune out the playoffs until Game 6 or 7 of the World Series. Can you let me know when a team is within an out or two of winning, so I can start caring about the season? Nevermind, I will just wait for Sportscenter to do it for me. Seven months of my life freed up!
