I think many baseball enjoyers would love to watch tennis but have never given it a fair shot.
There's a few notable comparisons.
It's very easy to follow like baseball. It takes unreal hand eye coordination like baseball. The ball is being hit very hard like baseball. Really the only place tennis fails is the team atmosphere and crowd energy. But I think if people who have never given it a shot decide to watch a match one day (especially of a great player) they will become fans.

I agree overall....but the crowd energy in tennis can be great, actually. Two big differences from pro baseball right now are 1) the pacing of the cheering is different as the crowd is quiet during serves and mostly during points, and 2) the absence of near-constant canned sound effects and music, which I absolutely love. The drama of the action is better when it is left to speak for itself. (And don't get me started on NBA games that play tunes and sound effects during the actual game!)

When I saw this I had to post my rarest of rare tennis cards. I only own it for a few more days so this is more of a farewell.

it is a fun sport to watch. I used to watch with my father all the time when I was a kid. My favorites were Roscoe Tanner and Jimmy Connors.

Yeah, that's on my list, the only ones I have seen (not this high grade) have been priced prohibitively. Connors in that issue too.

That's cool. I had never heard of him until recently looking into the Wheaties panels in my FILs collection. Sounds like he led a long life.

I had 2 Conners that I sold to finance this Martina. Unfortunately, I need to sell this to finance my next grail card. It's the highest graded copy known to exist. We had a wonderful 2 years together but there is so much other stuff out there to collect.

If anyone is looking for relatively cheap Conner rookies, his 1976 Nabisco Tennis card can be had for under $20 raw. Most people don't know that he is featured with his doubles partner on that card.

There's a 4.5 Americana Munchen Connors on ebay, but the price seems too high to me.
