Default 1954 Parkhurst Wrestling

75 cards in the set total with the bio backs. Most of the cards can also be found with "Lucky Premium" backs. (not issued 3 6 8 23 25 27 47 50 51 53 70 71 74). I have completed the set with bio backs and todays mail brought a needed "Lucky Premium" #35 Joe Killer Christie.

Larry, just so you know.Card #10 has at least 2 known different premium backs. So you may be looking for two copies of that card. I do not believe that any of the other ones have different premium backs.

That's some good information as I've wondered if cards appear with more than one Lucky Premium back. The card #10 (Chief Big Heart) that I have with the Lucky Premium back displays the "Sensational New-Style FLASH CAMERA" lol

What other Lucky Premium back is on card #10?

The '54 and '55 Parkhurst Wrestling cards are really fun to collect. Nice big cards and not to expensive.
I think my favorite card has to be #36 Bo Bo Brazil. I grew up in Southern California and after our Tuesday night Boy Scout meetings I would rush home to watch Roller Derby (LA T-Birds) and Wrestling. Bo Bo Brazil was always one of my favorites. Somehow I've managed to acquire a duplicate Bo Bo card with the Lucky Premium back.

Bo Bo Brazil WWF Hall of Fame Class of 1994

I bought a 1954 parkhurst set years ago and looked at the back of my Bobo Brazil and realized that he had signed it. I got it slabbed by PSA DNA. The seller did not even realize as it was signed on the back of the card.

Thanks WrestlingCardKing for all the great info!

It's always fun to dig back into these cards. Oh and don't forget to check the backs of your Lucky Premium cards that might be stamped

"VALUABLE CARD"
"DAVY CROCKETT'S"
POTATO CHIPS REG'D"

(I think only the Lucky Premium cards are stamped?)

I have had he top graded Parkhurst wrestling set on the registry for the last seven years.

There are biography backs from 1954 that have the stamped backs. I have some. I listed them on ebay a long time ago and I did not get bids on the lot.
I will have to find them.

I am happy to know that others are collecting the set.

I am letting go one of my graded 1954 parkhurst wrestling sest....all 75 cards are graded and if two of the cards are replaced with mid-grade cards it would be the second best graded set in existence. I have two cards holding it back with a 2 and 3 and just 5s would be enough or even 4s (i think). If anyone has any spare graded parkies let me know. I am always looking to buy or trade.

#56 is only a 2 and #72 is only a 3. I have my complete set up on ebay now that is my third complete graded set of 1954s. I plan to keep my number one set....and basically a second set since i have a master set with 62 of the premium backs and may as well have 13 bio backs to complete a second set. No need for a third set. My third set is actually a little higher than my second as it is harder to find cards in high grade when i have some of the premium backs that are in low grade but i need to keep them to keep my master going.

If the set does not sell and if you decide to upgrade the #72. Then I have that card in a PSA-5.

I am looking for the following in lucky premium backs in excellent condition that would be a PSA 5 or better #2 Sky Hi Lee, #13 Paul Baillargeon, #19 Yukon Eric, #28 Lu Kim and #43 Ray Villmer. I think those are the last of those that I need in my premium back set to find them all in grades of excellent or better.
