Why wouldn't you think it was Jersey Bakely? The pose is fairly common as far a I know. I've got the same one from the 1889 issues.

i just wanted to ask someone with a bit more knowledge about the oj's. as far as psa goes with the population report, it shows i think only 3 bakley's graded. would that include all poses of him, unlike other cards that break down poses seperately when doing a population report??
this is the one i find everywhere i search

Jersey Bakley is one of few players who played in four different leagues during their career. He is also one of few to have lost 30 or more games twice in their career.

Good choice. Not every OJ represents an ex-Players League participant. And very few also belonged to the initial anti-Reserve Clause UA.

Edited to add:

I believe that there are five Bakley poses.

five different poses, interesting. but all of the poses count under just the one bakley category on the psa population report? seems like they would break it up five different ways? so there is no way to tell if and how many of the 3 cards they have on the pop report are the same pose i have or not....hmmm

None of the grading services have ever really broken down the OJs by poses, only by players. If they started now it would be a total mess because none of the population reports would be accurate. Deciphering the exact code for the cards is a chore in itself. I wouldn't trust the grading services to get it right.

I find it difficult to believe that not everybody considers different poses as different cards. The pose descriptions which I have are:
1) hands at chest
2) left arm half concealing face
3) pitching, right hand head high
4) batting, feet together
5) batting, feet apart

Then there are two variations for three of these poses, representing team spelling differences.

At least from my experience with PSA re: Sterns (Stearns is correct spelling), they are clueless as to actual pops with Old Judge. As already pointed out on this thread, they will issue a grade, then discover a variation, without keeping an accurate record of the first variation, so they end up unsure of the pop. With Old Judge, I think that going forward, they should keep more detailed records of the cards they grade, including description, for this very idiosincratic set.
