Default Help Identify Please

Been talking with some fellow collectors. Pretty confident the following boxer is listed here;
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...7453&cat=boxer

Came from an Australian Collection, along side the Thompson and an Abe Hicken CDV.

Also talked to some Aussie specialists who believe he was at least a backer or ref. However they were also confident the boxer matches CC Wiliams. (Chuck, Cliffton ? ) Anyways anyone know?

Default Hard to match without a photo.

We know the guy above was either a ref or a fighter. This issue also featured famous refs. The print is rather tough to make out, could say L.C Williams . This could in fact be Luke Williams who was a famous referee.

Anyways we should be able to crack this puzzle soon

You might want to contact Arnold Thomas, if you haven't already.

He knows about as much as anybody on early Australian boxing history.

Hello everyone,

Here is my copy of the Old Judge card. The subject is definitely L. C. Williams. There's a good chance he is boxing related, but I'm not sure! I have and have had quite a few cards from this series, Footballers, Cricketers and Boxers. To add a note, all of the cards I have purchased have come from Australia.

Hey Mark, good to hear from you. Thanks for the info. Any other boxers you have and would care to show?

Default Hey

Thanks for the info!
I am 99% certain that this man is one of these two subjects below;
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...7453&cat=boxer

http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...32&cat=referee

Pretty certain its the boxer. Abe Hicken reffed a lot of fights in Australia. And the L.C Williams Dog's Head I have is from a boxing collection in Australia. I got this one with the Jack Thompson dog's head card.

Hi John, Adam,

Of the two Boxrec stats you have, I prefer the Luke Williams referee over the Williams boxer.

Cards from either of the series are difficult. I have six of the blank backed cards and only one Dogs Head.

If my memory serves, Adam, I remember you had the pink tinted Peter Jackson card from me quite a few years ago!

Mark.

I have found old judge dog's head to be the most rare. Seconded by Gypsy Queen Top Logo. I think this must be Luke Williams the ref.
