Default 1952 Mantle

Seems like a decent buy after yesterday's sale?

https://ebay.to/2LP5mjp

What is with that shipping charge?

Not sure if seller is going to hand deliver it with that shipping charge. I think you can get a 2 way flight for cheaper these days.

Ive brought this up a few times. That pwcc_vault account is relatively new and has some ridiculous prices. It smells like a scammer parading as PWCC.

It's just PWCC's version of buy it now (in their case, with inventory stored in their "vault" that's owned by previous customers). Which is done to skirt around some state sales taxes, but that's another story.

I assume the shipping charge is related to insuring a shipment worth that much. You'd think that for a million dollar purchase that they'd cover the thousand to insure it, but guess not.

No idea...but not all 7's are created equal. An SGC 7 brings significantly less than a PSA 7

It's a nice looking 1, but still hard to believe the price. Can't wait to see where it ends.

Sold or ended?

I honestly don't think anyone on Net54, or any card forum for that matter, would sell a card like that for so cheap if it indeed did sell?

Just checking SMR, that seems to be around the going prices, or at least it was back in December.
What is the value of that card today? I don't follow them.

Where are you getting that price from? Listing was for $17,500 which is still a low price but not as low as what you indicated.

best offer price. seller didn't do their homework. Especially this card is trending upward. Dean's card is not too far away from reasonable. I hope he's not consigning for somone, obviously he's leaving A LOT of money on the table.

Looks like a different Mantle with the same grade sold for a best offer of $22,750 on Jan 19.

I would say now should be even more, a PSA1 at clean sweep is bidding at 11k

SMR hasn't been accurate in decades. They may be closer on a bigger card like that, but still not a very reliable source in 2021.

I'll really never own this card now. I thought maybe, one day, I'll be able to drop 10-15K and get a respectable SGC or PSA 1. Now short of hitting the lotto, I'll never own it, unless prices come down, which on Mantle's, is unlikely.

I'm very fortunate to land 2 early last year before the jump. I missed the boat many many times, hoping for a deal but it just never happened. Some cards you know once it goes up, it's very very difficult for it to come down. There's a very very nice SGC3 currently at heritage. If i don't have one, i would probably try my best to jump on that one.

I can't afford a 15K card now, let alone something that will be well into the 60K+ range. It's just a depressing reality that I need to come to terms with.

Absolutely, just me feeling a little sorry for myself. And I truly can never say never. We have no idea what the card market will look like in five years, let alone 20 or 30! Collecting is a life long process! I may very well have one, many years from now!

I already both, no need to trade,
I bet a lot of people would want to trade away the kid especially when the baby gets to trouble 2.
