Default Ruth help

Odd one here - "Ruth" only in quotations, which I've not seen before. Done in pencil and the paper is now heavily toned.

This pin was apparently provided for Ruth to wear at a Union Printers International Baseball League Tournament. The UPI Baseball League began circa 1908 and remains in existence today.

I've read articles noting that Babe and other stars of the day attended these tournaments on occasion. Due to the small size of the nameplate it would have been difficult for Ruth to sign "Babe" Ruth, and only signing "Babe" would seem odd. Any thoughts?

Somebody wrote "Ruth" on the pin but I don't think the "Babe" did. Letter formation is way off IMO.
