Default Wire Photo for David R.

Posted By: Mike H.

David. Give us a lecture on wire photos please. I have both of your books, but wire photos aren't covered. A few questions I have are.

1.What should we look for from a stamping perspective? I've seen wire photos that have a newspaper clipping of the photo on the back, but that doesn't mean the pic. wasn't printed yesterday.

2. Are there fakes that are very well done and tough to detect?

3. Could one be printed off by a reporter today at his office from long ago file, stamped with an adjustable stamper to say 1933, and sold to a sucker like ME tomorrow?

4. Obviously condition and subject determine value, but is there anything else that effects price?

Thanks for the information. You are a great resource and a fine human being. Did I butter you up adequately? Ha Ha

Thanks
