Default Doing a T-card run is fun....Show us your T206 or T205 card-runs

..... Piedmont ........ Sweet Caporal .......... EPDG_______The "House" that created these Tobacco cards______UZIT ................ Hindu ....... American Beauty

If you're me, you have "near-completed" T206 set(s), but The Monster has you "hooked". So then you continue this addiction
by doing T-brand runs of your favorite T206 guys. This also applies to collecting T205 guys. Show your runs of either of them.

I will start this show with two of my complete "short" runs. Although there are only seven different T-brands included between
these two subjects, 3 of the T-brands are tough to find. And the 1910 COUPON of Breitenstein is extremely difficult to find......

The Carl Lundgren (Cubs) cards is a favorite of mine for several reasons. Especially, since it was the first T206 subject of which
I completed its back Run (only 3 cards needed). I included the color-error (missing blue ink) of Lundgren to accent my display.

.

Ted Breitenstein is my favorite T206 Southern Leaguer card.

Hi Cliff

Very nice Berger run. Thanks for posting your cards.

And yes, he has been confirmed with a LENOX back. There is a possibility that it may be a Brown LENOX.

OK....so much for my "short-runs". I've been working on numerous T-brand runs for 35 years. Regarding runs comprising of 25 cards (or less), my pride and joy is the
T206 McGraw in the "Exclusive 12" group of the 460-only Series. The 12 subjects in this group were printed with 13 tobacco advertisements. It is extremely difficult to
complete this run because the UZIT card is virtually impossible to find. Incidentally, this McGraw / UZITof mine is a unique card.

Hi Ted! I hope all is well.

I am sorry, but I dont have photos available, but my back runs include (not including T213, T214, T215):

Tinker Bat Off - complete T206 (including brown lenox, but missing 214 and T215s)
Evers Yellow Sky - missing one T206 and blank back if exists
Chance Yellow Portrait - 50% complete

Also I am softly working on Speaker and E Collins

Also, only a few away from a Brown Old Mill set

Hi Ryan

Really great to hear from you. Everything is fine here. I trust that everything is fine with you.

I have seen some of your T-card runs; and, they are amazing. For example, your Tinker (bat off)
run. There are front / back combos in it which I have tried to get that have been a no-go for me.

Will I see you at the Philly Show at the end of this month ?

I've been working on NY Highlanders T205 runs. First started with the group of 32 subjects which I refer to as the A - B - C - D connection.
This group of T205's were printed with more T-brands than the other T205 cards in this set. And, I really enjoy this challenge.

My experience doing these T205 runs has provided me an appreciation for the printing patterns of the T205 cards. Certain examples are.....

The A - B - C - D cards and AMERICAN BEAUTY (Green) cards are mutually-exclusive.

HINDU cards and DRUM cards are mutually-exclusive.

Harry Wolter is one of the Highlanders printed in the A - B - C - D group. My run only needs the HONEST LONG CUT back to be complete.

Hi Dave

Great looking Baltimore players runs. I'm sure you are also doing runs on all the other Baltimore guys.

Say, will I see you at the Philly Show in 2 weeks ?

Ted, yes I'm working on runs of all nine Baltimore players. Unfortunately, for my wallet, that includes Drum backs for each of the nine - as confirmed by your A-B-C-D theory.

Hoping to make it up to the Philly show in a couple of weeks but I'm still not sure. Visiting with you and Dan M. is always the highlight of the trip for me. I'll be sure to let you know either way.

Dave

The only ballplayer in the T206 set who was still active in the Major Leagues in 1933 is also featured in the 1933 GOUDEY set.....Jack Quinn.**
His pitching career spanned from 1909 - 1933.

The T205 Quinn is part of my Highlanders run project within the T205 group of 32 printed with the A - B - C - D backs. These T205's were printed with eleven T-brands.

Big thanks to Luke Lyon, from whom I recently acquired the BROAD LEAF card of Quinn. This card
"completes" my Quinn run. I say "completes"....since I don't expect to find his elusive DRUM card.

I have some T206 HOFers and a few tough backs...but...Holy Toledo! The cards in this thread make my meager collection look like a pile of 88 Donruss.

Great cards, everyone.

Amazing runs on here. Mine is never going to get near completion, but my very small Red Cobb run. Hope to post my WaJo run eventually, but needs a little more for each pose.

I've included Miller Huggins in my Yankees run. Great Yankees Mgr., plus he is the guy who persuaded Col. Jacob Ruppert (Yankees owner)
to acquire Babe Ruth from Boston in 1919.....and, the rest is history.

PIEDMONT Factory #42....Huggins is one of four guys in the group of 32 guys comprising the A - B - C - D connection with Pd#42.

. . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

My Huggins run is 90% complete (need HASSAN Factory #30). A DRUM has yet to be confirmed for Huggins. But, I expect that his DRUM card eventually will be discovered.

I really like the Collins portrait. I picked up my first this weekend in an auction, along with a Tinker, Adkins, and Chance Yellow. Excited to tick off a few hall of famers in my quest. The deep red in the Tolstoi example is beautiful.

And here's an A - B - C - C - D display. The extra "C" is for the 1910 COUPON card of Chase. Actually, this array of 5 cards is just a small portion of my Hal Chase run.
This Chase is my favorite T206 image. Currently, I have 23 of it's backs. I need CAROLINA BRIGHTS, CYCLE 460, DRUM, LENOX, T213-3 Factory #8 (overprint), and a
T214. His DRUM card has yet to be confirmed. I do expect that his DRUM will eventually be discovered.

Default T206 REFERENCE.....Doing a T-card run is fun....Show us your T206 or T205 card-runs

I started collecting T206's in 1981, when I acquired this Hal Chase card at the Willow Grove Show in Pennsylvania.
I have always been an avid set collector (completed major sets from 1887 to 1986). So at the beginning, the T206
set was not a high priority for me. I "completed" my first T206 (521-card) set circa 1996. I was keen about buying
the four Cobb's (and other major stars) in the early 1980's. The Cobb's were selling for only $20 each back then in
Ex condition.

Continuing my Chase run......

Incredibly impressive runs everyone, and I like the alphabet soup angle. I am not a runner when it comes to collecting, in fact this is the only one I have that even comes close, but about a decade ago on this site I lucked into obtaining 7 of these 9 as a group (I already had one, and picked up another later). Not sure if the Tolstoi exists, but I have no plans on obtaining it or any of the remaining tough backs. I might eventually upgrade 1 or 2 of them though.

My Alphabet Gaavy Cravath Soup is actually a word scramble, and ACEPPSSSO it spells out...CAPS POSES. Which obviously points out the way that each one of these Cravath cards is showing off the modern/retro way Gaavy wore his baseball cap.

Awesome run Jay.

I am amazed almost everyday here with everyone’s runs and other incredible posts/cards. Part of the reason that I come to these pages way more than I should. Lol.

Default T206 run of the "Red-Ink-Twins"....HINDU and SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 cards

* * * * * * * * * * * * * T206 Reference, Theory's, Surveys, etc. * * * * * * * * * * * *

A printing pattern exists, which I refer to as the Red-Ink-Twins. I discovered this relationship in 2013, while I was doing my red HINDU run of the Exclusive 12 subjects.
American Litho printed the 35 subjects (Group A) in the 350/460 Series simultaneously with the HINDU and SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 backs (circa
Winter of 1910).
Furthermore, on a separate sheet, American Litho printed 12 subjects in the 460-only Series with the red HINDU & SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 backs.
This group of 12 subjects, I refer to as the "Exclusive 12", are certainly more available with the red HINDU and these SWEET CAP backs than the above 35 subjects.

.

.

----

Checklist total = 47 subjects with each of these two T206 backs. NO other T206 subjects were printed with red HINDU or SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 backs.

Continuing the T206 run of the "Red-Ink-Twins"...red HINDU and SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 cards.

These three complete the "Red-Ink-Twins" display of the Exclusive 12 cards. And, I included two of my favorite
T206 guys, Chase and Donlin (350/460 Series cards).

Default T206 REFERENCE.....Doing a T-card run is fun....Show us your T206 or T205 card-runs

Hey guys....has this thread dwindled down to "Ted Z's only" show-n-tell stuff ?

Whatever, I'll keep this going with my favorite T206 action pose run.

It's a relatively easy run, since only 10 possible cards are needed to complete this Doolan run. I still need the BROAD LEAF 350 card.
And, according to my A-B-C-D theory the DRUM is one of the possible backs. However, no DRUM has been confirmed as of this date.

Sweet Cap, Factory #25

And, to top off this display......my "MEGA T206" Doolan

Here is my Russ Ford back run from the Exclusive 12 group. I need the EPDG back and the UZIT back to complete this 13-card run.
No UZIT back has been confirmed for Ford, but I expect that it will eventually be discovered, as have the Crandall, Geyer, Hummel,
McGraw, and Sheckard cards in the Exclusive 12 group.
