Haven't been very interested in upgrades as of late, but this was a pretty nice looking card, thus an exception was made:

First T215-1 I've ever owned and the first Red Cross I've had since I sold my T215-2 Konetchy a while back.

Nice pick up on the Red Cross. IMO the type 1's are a fair bit more scarce than the type 2's .....(at least I have seen fewer).....regards

I don't have scans but I've picked up T205's of Wheat, Clark, Graham, Schlei, Delahanty, Stone, Street, and Miller.

I also got a nice looking T200 Philadelphia American card. (I love these cards)

Adam,
Nice one, you picked that up for a great price!

Like Leon said, I put a little premium on the Type 1's; they seem to be a bit tougher.

Thanks Leon, Sean.

I took a chance, as the card seemed to be hovering under the radar. I wound up getting lucky and snagged it for just under a 100 bucks. I didn't even realize it was a type I until after the auction ended. The last and only Red Cross I ever owned (Type II Konetchy) was sold off a while ago, and I've been hoping to pick-up another. All the Louisiana tobacco issues are very appealing & scarce, which makes it a cool area of the hobby to collect.

Adam,

Let me join in and say nice pick-up.

What's especially nice about this particular T215 is that if you ever decide to sell it, you actually do own it.

Again, nice card.

Rob

It pains me to say it but great pick up!!!!

I tried getting it and was the lead bidder until that night -when my wife kept me off until the auction was over (something about doing her schoolwork)! I gotta learn to snipe!!!

PS -The reason it was so low was that it was under the 1930 listings for some reason so it didn't get much exposure!!!

Again Congrats!!

EDIT: Just noticed something odd. Notice how the creases in both cards match up perfectly. The cards came from two different sellers. I blame it on the Hadron Collider.

I know that everyone and there brother has seen this card floating around. It is a big one for me, as it fits neatly into my SGC 40-50 Hofer and "guys with a story" backs line up. It is also one of my favorite poses, with a cool back. Nine Down!
Thanks to a board member.

The unidentified (to me) card upgrade. It's still very neat and rare though and I like cards you don't see every day; others like sets. Some like graded, some don't...Some like mint, others not so much (at least for the money they cost) but in the end; it's all good.

I appreciace the credit for the purchase, but wanted you to know that the reason I got mine was for a similar rationale -- a buddy of mind in high school had a gorgeous one.

If you enjoy yours half as much as I enjoy mine, whatever you paid for it will be well worth it.

Just back from SGC are the two Mattys...

This was bought raw on ebay a couple of months ago...

This was a PSA 4 cross-over...

And a pickup from Memory Lane; probably overgraded as a 4, but I bid accordingly as to the real grade...
