Default 1971 Topps Tattoos Double Panel with Brooks Robinson

Day 174 – 23 June 2024
Today I am showing you two complete panels of the 1971 Topps Tattoos double folded with Brooks Robinson (top left corner on each). The set includes 16 different panels or sheets. This sheet is #16 and has two of the same one attached together. This panel is readily available but I have only ever seen one with two of the Brooks panels together. I completed the panel set a few months ago. Some of them are expensive and hard to find in nice condition.

Default Brooks Robinson / Johnny Bench 1970 Photo by Tadder (1983)

Day 175 – 24 June 2024
I have always wanted to frame this but it is just too big. I really enjoy this oversized photo of Brooks Robinson with his trimmed helmet and a Johnny Bench catching in the 1970 WS. The photo measures 20x16. The photo was printed in 1983 by Tadder.

Get that photo framed… I think mine is an 16x20 as well and have had it since early ‘90’s; you can probably tell by the frame/matte style. I received mine from Tadder and had it displayed since then in different areas of the house. Now it resides in my small O’s room.

Default Baltimore Orioles Camera Day

Day 176 – 25 June 2024
How many of you as a kid made it to Memorial Stadium for Camera Day. I am showing you a couple pictures from camera day in 1973, Camera Day 1971, Camera Day August 29, 1971,and an album from camera day on August 28, 1970. I have quite a few of the photos but none from 1970 to go in my “album.” I really enjoy seeing the signs the players appeared next to.

Default 1958 Memorial Stadium All Star Game

Day 180 - 29 June 2024
For the next 2 weeks leading up to the All Star game, I will show you some items I have collected over the years celebrating Brooks Robinson AS games along with the two years (1958 and 1993) Baltimore hosted the game. 1958 All Star Game was the first AS game in Baltimore at Memorial Stadium. The 1958 AS game had Triandos behind the plate who went 1 for 2. The AL won 4 to 3. Today, I am showing you two pennants from the AL team (both very rare and expensive), a pin back, the program, ticket and press pin.

Great looking pennants! Really like the look of those two examples. I wanted to pick up a press pin when I first started collecting, but never did; probably my favorite looking pin.

Mark, I agree on the press pin. What a beauty. One on eBay for $125 but missing back pin. Not perfect it an option.

Bill, thanks for sharing the post marked envelopes. I enjoy finding things relating to the Orioles and AS Game. I hope we host one again soon. Two in 70 years does not seem right.

Default 1993 All Star Game at OPACY

Day 181 - 30 June 2024
1993 All Start Game was the second all star game in Baltimore at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Not sure why Baltimore has been shunned from hosting the mid-summer classic. We have 2 AS games in 70 years. The AL won 9 to 3. Cal Ripken (he was 0 for 3) was the starting SS and Mike Mussina was on the team but never entered the game. Today, I am showing you a few miscellaneous things, pennant, the program, press pins, coaster, ticket and Travis Fryman locker room tag.

Default Eddie Robinson Gorsuch House Booklet

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up from a fellow message board member this c. late 1950's - early 1960's piece promoting the Gorsuch House restaurant in Baltimore.

It only features Eddie Robinson (pictured on the front in a Yankees uniform), so it must be before Brooks invested in the same restaurant.

The piece is like a little booklet that folds open. The colors inside with a cartoon rendition of Eddie are still very nice. It is blank-backed.

Has anyone seen this one before and know anything else about it?

Mike, I have a future post on some new items I found on Gorsuch items. Have not seen this one. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Curious what “board” you receive in your message.

Thanks!

Default 1975 SSCP Orioles Team Uncut Sheet with Brooks Robinson

Day 198 – 17 July 2024
Today I am showing you a 1975 Orioles Uncut Team sheet SSCP. Included is Brooks Robinson. Unfortunately, this is only 15 of the 27 Orioles in the Set and Palmer is missing. I have never seen the sheet with Palmer. I am sure it is not too rare and out there.

Charlie,

I really liked this set when it first came out. FYI - there are two variations of the Brooks Robinson card. The second variation has part of his hat cropped at the top.

I always liked this set too....What I found neat about it was that the majority of the Orioles (and other A.L. teams) photos were taken at Shea Stadium (where the Yankees played during their stadium's renovation).

Default Gorsuch house

I was going through some junk and came across a photo of Brooks I believe in front of the GORSUCH HOUSE. Unsure if I posted this before, but several items have been posted previously and thought this may be an interesting addition.
