Default Grading Question

I have a number of older cards that I have had for years and nothing grading. I was thinking of sending in the card below. First off, what do you think it would grade and secondly which grading service is recommended.

Thanks,
Neil

Default Nice card

I don't know if you are in the right section with this, but as far as grading goes,I prefer SGC.My guess is it would grade EX at least, but I am far from a pro. That is a great looking card,do you own any "pre-war" cards?Good luck-Regards,Clayton

Grade 5 and send to SGC. It will really POP out with the black border.

Default If you are selling after grading!

If you are going to sell your cards after grading them, I would recommend having your cards graded with PSA - especially if they are postwar cards. They will bring you higher prices in PSA slabs.

I would have to agree, strictly taking resell value into account....PSA for postwar (especially Mantle cards) and SGC for prewar cards (although, I am not 100% convinced that SGC prewar will (on average) bring-in more dough). Of course, my preference is to always go with the card grading company (SGC or PSA) that is running the best monthly card grading "specials".

But please keep in mind, that at the end of the day, resell value is all about catching a couple of "blue whales" in a feeding frenzy. They are a bit irregular at the moment....although, we have a few on this board. If you are lucky enough to hook two in one auction, then you better bring-out the wheel barrol.

Lovely Day...

I think thay are pretty close. Sgc has only 1 card sold of this sicne Feb 09', PSA has sold 5 in the past 2 weeks all different cards and none of then as nice as the SGC copy. SGC's prices are very close to what PSA is selling for and in some cases higher. Its all about presentability.

Oh, and to answer your question.

Either SGC or PSA will probably grade it "EX" maybe "EX+". If it has any small hairline's or surface wear then "VG/EX".

I do not want to sell them... I just wanted to send a couple in and see what they grade.... Thanks I think I will take a couple of baseball and football cards from the 50's and send them into SGC, I like the idea of the black border for contrast... Thanks again.
