Default PSA v. BGS Modern Superstars

As a mostly prewar guy occasionally dabbling in modern era superstars, I wonder about perceived value of PSA 10 v. BGS 9.5. While PSA clearly rules to roost of prewar (for good and for bad), Beckett is obviously huge in modern cards. If you were buying an expensive modern day iconic card and hoping for appreciation over time, would you think there's much of a difference between PSA and BGS 9.5 at the end of the day? I realize Beckett gives subgrades which can alter the equation. Just wondering what folks reactions are generally? Here's a case in point.

I know the old buy the card not the holder canard, but at this level I'd be dammed if I can identify any major differences between cards.

As I have observed it, PSA 10s are far more expensive in almost all cases now. The BGS 9.5, even the "quad," ain't what it used to be.

In a few of the modern cards I've been dabbling in I've noticed the following.

BGS 9 < PSA 9 < BGS 9.5 < PSA 10 < BGS 10

Don't know if that's just my experience, or even if what I just typed out makes any sense.

I would agree with this, although in some cases a BGS 9.5 isn't that much higher than a PSA 9 any more.
