Default 1979 Ozzie Smith and 1980 Rickey Henderson PSA 10

Arguably 2 of the most difficult cards to obtain PSA 10 for modern cards. Ozzie's RC has pop 4 (SMR value at $3650), and Henderson pas pop 10 (SMR value at $6500). Currently they are listed on ebay for $10,000 each. The question i have is, what would be a fair market value for these two cards if they were listed in auction today. How much are you willing to pay for them? Above or below SMR prices?

as with any card, i don't see the point in wasting that kind of dough on the cards.. m happy with 7's or 8's which carry no premium and look just fine to my eyes.

I would pay nothing for them. I would rather buy a bunch of PSA 9's instead. They look just as good, and would allow you to have a much larger collection.

SMR is garbage IMO. It doesn't reflect the true market value of a card. VCP is a much better source.

I do not have the financial security to spend that kind of money on either card....BUT....if I did, between those 2 cards I would lean more to the Ozzie. Not because I like the card any better, but because a PSA 10 would have to be pretty close to centered perfectly, something I have never seen on that particular card. I would have to consult with some "experts" to establish what a fair price might be. Cool thread!

It's interesting. On Smith, VCP's last 2 sales were above SMR ($6500), while Henderson sold between $4400 to $9400.

Default alotta coin...

The price is whatever the market will bear, and that can be greatly skewed on low pop cards when more than one person is going after it. Sounds like SMR is too low, but $10k too high in most cases, certainly for the Ozzie. somewhere in between lies the truth!
