Default 1978 White Sox Team Ball - Lemon - Doby - Minoso - Bonds

The 1978 Chicago White Sox might not be remembered for championships, but a signed team ball from that year holds immense historical value. Featuring the autographs of legends like Bob Lemon, Larry Doby, Minnie Miñoso, and Bobby Bonds, this ball is a snapshot of some of the greatest contributors to baseball history.

Bob Lemon, Hall of Fame pitcher and manager, brought his strategic mind and steady leadership to the team in 1978.
Larry Doby, a key coach, was the second African American player to integrate MLB and remains a trailblazer for racial equality in the sport.
Minnie Miñoso, "The Cuban Comet," broke barriers for Latin American players and is an enduring icon for the White Sox.
Bobby Bonds, known for his power and speed, made a one-year impact with the Sox, carrying his legacy as one of baseball’s top outfielders.

The White Sox of the late 1970s were a fun team to watch. Besides seeing Minoso bat in 1976 against the Angels, I cheered on the 1977 team, which won 90 games with their crazy "vintage" jerseys that predated the throwback era. I have an autograph book from the spring of 1950 that includes signatures of Lemon, Doby and Minoso, who were all teammates on the Indians, which, like the '78 White Sox, were owned by Bill Veeck. How good would the Indians have been if they didn't trade Minoso to the White Sox?

In only two seasons later, Steve Stone would win 25 games for the Orioles.
