Default Goal Achieved - 1960's Topps Run COMPLETE

Today I picked up the last card to my 1963 Topps Set, and the last card to complete all the 60s sets, 1960 -1969. It's been quite a journey...I've complete sets...sold, traded...rebuilt...re-committed...and after a little over 10 years from getting back into the hobby it's done. I made a post on 3/16/14 here on net54 when I completed all the 70s sets...last card being 1972 Topps Rod Carew In Action card from a member here. Didn't think a Mantle would be my last card for the 60s, but the cards/deals decided...here is my last card -

I feel really accomplished today...can't wait for it to arrive and be official. Still awaiting about 8 cards (thanks COMC!!! Haha) and they will be here soon enough.

Looking to attack the 50s next. I am sitting on 980/2954...or 33.2%. I'd be higher but I recently traded all my 59's to my brother as he attacks that set...so it will increase here soon...then SLOW down as I attack 52/53. Can't wait for the next journey!

Thanks to many members here for all the help along the way. Whether it was picking up some key cards, a nice lot, or LOTS of knowledge I couldn't have done it withouth net54...lots of memories and learnings...

This is awesome - congratulations. I can only imagine the sense of fulfillment. I’m working on 72 now, then will tackle 70, which will complete my 70s run, after which I’ll start the 60s. I’m about 10 years behind you it seems

That's awesome, your right on my track...lol. If you ever need any advice on the 60s please reach out...lot's of nuances in those SP's and High Numbers...you get so knowledgeable, even memorizing numbers...haha...that once your done it's kind of bittersweet. I may run through the 60s again...the early 70s are still in "nice to be done" territory!

Wow! Great run John and quite an accomplishment. Good luck with your 50's run. I feel like sending you a 50's orphan grab bag just to assist.

Thanks Al...when talking with you I probably should throw in the word "base" sets... I do have the 68 Game set and the 69 Deckle set with both Foy and Wynn...and I really want the 64 Stand up set...

Thanks Irv...much appreciated...I know you have a couple I need...

Congrats! It's been awhile, but I know exactly how you feel, the 1963 set was one of my favorites. Finishing a set is a great feeling.

Congrats...I can show my wife the binders and justifiably say, "See, I don't take up that much room." Praise your diligence.

John, you have perhaps the coolest looking way to store and display your 1960s sets I have ever seen! Congratulations! THIS is how to do it, right here.

Impressive!, I am short 61 (that I had and sold) because I don't like the format and 69 that there are too many a) change of team so head shot b) reused photos from earlier years and c) a lot of diamond cuts.
