Sorry to hear about the fire. It's incredible that the t206 Wagner card survived the fire but lucky for you that it did because you might have a very valuable card there. It's interesting that t206 Wagner cards have withstood fires, floods, earthquakes, volcanos, and one was eaten by a dog and survived intact - amazing but true. There has been much discussion about this in the baseball card collecting community that possibly the t206 Wagners were treated by the printer with a special laquer or fluid of some sort to make them almost impervious to nature. Sort of the same type of fluids that the Egyptians used to preserve mummies. In any event, check out this website at http://www.brucemo.com/cards/articles/pro_grading.htm |

Odds are this is a reprint doctored to look legit. Wear doesn't look natural and burns don't appear consistant with a house fire. If it came from a house a fire, it should have much more discoloration due to smoke. This looks more like the edges were set on fire, then blown out. The Piedmont back doesn't help either since there are only 2 know legit examples. The rest all having Sweet Caporal backs. Best thing to do if you want an opinion is to submit it to SGC, GAI or PSA. |

The burnt ones are always Honus, Ruth and Cobb. Where's the rest of the stack with Overall, Steinfeldt, Kroh, and company? They must have been in the fire safe... |
