It does look odd.

Overall their listings in general look weird.
A really wide range of image quality and backgrounds. And someone who sells stuff worth thousands won't spring for a scanner, or at least a cheap stand so their cellphone pics are at least halfway decent...

Slab has crack and he is also selling a 1933 Goudey Ruth 53 or $3720 with description

"Card was passed down to me. I do not claim this to be authentic or fake. You are purchasing what you see"

Usually not a good sign.

It is listed that way in PSA's certification service: under Variety/Pedigree it says TRIMMED

The sellers feedback is a telltale sign that it is a fake in addition to all of the other expensive cards he is selling.

That Mantle is an absolute FAKE!!!!!

The front is variation 1 (with the full border around the Yankee logo). This variation should have the stitches on the ball on the back, pointing to the left, and the "D" in DiMaggio should be lined up under the "h" in throws. The back on this card is variation 2, with the stitches on the ball pointing to the right, and the "D" in DiMaggio is lined up under the "r" in throws.

On the Mantle listed on ebay, are genuine cards ever smooth on the front, with the back crazed like that?

On this one -

It appears to me to be trimmed on both the TOP and the RIGHT sides (based on the corners appearing to have "nipples" at the points. Do you think that is correct analysis?

The slab in the OP, and the slab with the real card from LOTG, are different. The one with the real card is the normal size for 1952-1956 Topps cards, while the slab in the op, is for 1957-present Topps, etc..... (due to the severe trimming of the fake card).

Thanks for the clarification Steve, I thought he was talking about the slab that the real card was in, not the fake one that was listed on Ebay.
