Saw a auction currently posted on ebay for 25 1921-1922 E121 cards. The description was kind of vague with very poor pictures. Has anyone on the board ever had dealings with this individual? The listing doesn't quite look right and he does not accept paypal so seems risky. Opinions?

Looks like this seller is fairly unknown to our members....which does say something.

On another front, yesterday I had an infrequent board member ask me to prove I own a card that he wants to buy....I know I am not that well known but if you read the board you would think........I am leery of this buyer as I have never heard of him.....And it's a (low) 5 figure purchase that he wants to do on a Sunday? and fly in to Dallas for it?? ....and he wants MY bank info.....To me all of it smells fishy so that is the way I am proceeding with it. I was born at night but not last night!!...regards

Leon, appreciate the imput. Like you, I was born at night, but not last night. I would hesitate to give out private information if i were you also. Think I will shy away from the auction even though it has 2 Ruths cards. Wouldn't you auction the Ruths separately?

Yes, generally speaking I would auction 2 Ruths seperately however I have seen much more stupid things done....

I checked out the auction, and I can't believe it's legit. He's got got graded cards in the lot, but the seemingly sharp-cornered Ruth and Hornsby cards are ungraded. That's a huge red flag to me ...

further checked out this auction today. Found out that there are actually 27 cards including 2 Ruths. Cards were supposedly bought from an estate in Kansas city and were not graded because of the "expense". It was a younger man from New York that needed money was the reason for the auction. Seemed legit on the phone but too many red flags for comfort. His prior ebay tag was " 2buzzy" which also had very limited recent feedback. Didn't take paypal because of some prior issues on an auction where he got burned. Would be an awesome deal if all the cards are legit but a little scarry.
