Default Did Ben Fisherboy7 ever get his cards back?

Posted By: Lentel

I was searching for vintage cards over the internet and came across Bens website. I remember his cards were stolen. Did anyone ever hear of any of those cards being returned to him?

He located and recovered a couple that were at a card shop in Toronto I believe, but the majority of the cards remain unaccounted for.

Ben checks in here occasionally (he is working overseas right now) - I am sure he will fill us in if he sees this post

In June of last year, 5 cards were recovered by the police in a suburb of Montreal, not even a 30 minute drive from where they were stolen. They were:

Voskamps card (dont remember the player as my cards are not infront of me)
an Old Judge (ditto)
1953 topps Paige
1955 topps Koufax
1956 topps Mantle

So a fairly insignificant portion of the collection. These cards were purchased by a dealer at a flea market, and shortly after were listed on ebay with $50 minimum bids. The detective who helped me recover the cards was happy to do so, but was reluctant to persue the case any further when I thought it could have been. I was happy to get those back, but 95% of the value is still out there in someone elses hands. Some of my old cards I miss a whole lot and would love to have back....the N162 Kelly/Anson/Brouthers, the Texas Tommy Mack, the E104's, E107's and D322s and many others. But it's been over two years since the theft, and I've been able to move on despite the painful memory.

I have kept my old website online as a visual proof of the collection, if any of the cards happen to turn up in the future. I know some of my collecting buddies still have an eye out for me. The support I got from network 54 after the break in was amazing. Anyways - here's a link to the old geocities site (it crashes if too many people load it up at once!)

Thanks net 54.

I'll keep looking. I think we should keep this bumped up for awhile, & maybe something good will happen. I'm sorry that happened to you. Sincerely, Paul

I still think Ben will get some more of his cards back.
This hobby is too small and the thief can't hide the cards forever.

That sucks, hadn't heard about that.
Ben is a great guy- we should definitely bump it from time to time.
