Hake’s Americana & Collectibles Auction #203 Now Online And Open For Bidding.

With amazing diversity, Hake's Americana, now in its fifth decade, has been assembling things collectors love and then parting with them via an auction format. Hake's is in the midst of their 203rd auction which closes June 21-23. Currently producing three auctions annually, Hake's presents artifacts of our material culture spanning over 200 years in 21 broad categories. Ted Hake, the founder, has also authored 17 price guides for collecting specialties included in each auction.

This auction is once again highlighted by baseball and boxing items from the Richard Merkin Collection. Last auction, items from this collection brought record prices, including $32,810 for a 25th Infantry 1916 baseball team panoramic photo that featured Bullet Joe Rogan, Dobie Moore and Oscar “Heavy” Johnson along with a number of rare Cuban baseball cards such as the 1910 Punch Ty Cobb that sold for $13,773.

Auction #203 has even more Cuban baseball cards, this time designated by SGC with “The Richard Merkin” pedigree. These include 1910 Punch Joes Mendez, Sam Crawford and Bruce Petway; 1923-24 Billiken Oscar Charleston and Mack Eggleston; 1924-25 Aguiltas Cristobal Torriente and others. Other SGC graded/authenticated cards include 1893 N266 Red Cross boxing near set of 24, 1928 Amatller Chocolate Spanish boxing card set, 1949 Menko JDM 2 Japanese baseball player mask set and 1967 Topps Venezuelan Ritirado set.

Autographed photos authenticated by JSA include: Jack Johnson, Martin Dihigo, Bob Feller/Satchel Paige double signed, Chuck Klein/Lefty O’Doul double signed, Pete Rose professional model bat, and more.
