Jumbo Old Judge Bradley...
Here is one of Buck Barker's former OJ's, with notation of all the teams George Bradley played for written on the reverse, including Nashville in 1886.

Because this thread is too good to die, I figured I'd keep it going with a card I finally got to scan. OJ Nyce on Burlington. He's the only player from the set on this team so it is super rare and try finding a nicer one. Heck I've tried finding a lower grade one so I could sell this one and use the difference to buy more cards!

These are the only two I currently own, but I may need to sell soon to help support the family. Though I plan on holding off as long as possible.

Bruce-Is that Boston image a cabinet or a CdV? I seem to recall a CdV of this team that sold a couple years ago.

Gary:

Great Cummings CDV!

Based on the size, that 1877 Boston must be a cabinet card, not sure if a similar version was produced as a CDV or not.....

THanks Gary. I really love the card. Can you say more about the find. Were there other Hess California league cards? I think I vaguely remember a thread about the find.

Jim- The original thread was on 10/18/09. There was also a Charlie Sweeney N338-1 and a Hess Newsboy in the find of only 20 cards. The other 17 cards were common OJs.

Comiskey, Johnson, and Connie Mack on one piece very nice! Also I was misinformed that Cap Anson was forced into retirement in January 1898, looks like his retirement was planned during the 1897 season, nice historical piece!
