Default Battlecat Minor League cards "10 GREAT SEASONS"

Has anyone ever seen this set before? Any idea on how it was distributed or who it was issued by? I do not see it listed on TCDB. I bought the Dernell Stenson a few weeks ago. It was definitely a card I was not aware that Stenson had:

Not all that unusual. The team probably reached out to a local company or companies for a sponsorship. They contract locally for a set and a print run of some amount, then it gets produced and given away at the stadium as a promotion of some sort.

Find a schedule during that year and see if they have promotional dates listed on it. Chances are, you can find the date they were given out.

As for TCDB, that just means no one uploaded them to the site. The fact that they are not listed means not much really. Since you have one, you could take scans of the front/back and upload it to them. Then they can start tracking it.

Colorado Springs did a similar thing with an All Time Team Set. It was sponsored by KRDO and Bills Sports Collectables then given out as a promotional give away in the 97 season. Someone obviously got one and uploaded it to the site.

Cheers,

Butch

Yes, my next step was going to be calling the company on back of the card and start asking questions. If I understand correctly, TCDB will not introduce a new set to their database unless the entire checklist of the set is known and submitted. I guess I can understand that protocol but I'm not sure I agree with it. Some sets are scarce due to print runs, the entire checklist may not be known. Starting the checklist would allow collectors to fill in the gaps in my opinion.

I know that they did add the 1952 Colorado Springs Sky Sox set missing a very rare card. But that was all but one of the cards too. Not a couple at a time.

I was fortunate enough to have the one rare card (Connie Johnson) that they did not have and uploaded it to their site to complete that set.

I would shoot an email to the baseball club first. Get a hold of the promotions group, pretty sure they can hook you up quickly with what you are looking for.

Good luck.

I called the company on my commute hom from work. . Spoke to the owner. She confirmed they were sponsors. She believes she kept some of the sets they handed out. I may have one coming to me if she can find them. If I can get the set and checklist, I’ll try to get TCDB to add.
