Default Happy Birthday Campy!

Born November 19, 1921

His career was cut short on both ends

He was an elite catcher, who finally got to the big leagues at age 26

He went on to win the NL MVP three times over the next 10 years.Think about all the legends he beat out for those awards in 1951, 1953 and 1955!

Campy still owns the highest caught stealing % in MLB history (57.4%)

Known for his great personality and smile, he kept his smile and his faith even after a tragic wreck tat left him paralyzed.

If a similar wreck happened in the modern day he would have been able to walk again or possibly even walk away from it.

Highly underrated
